1. Information we collect
Provided by you
- Name, surname, username, password, email, phone number, and other account profile details.
- Google sign-in details if you authenticate with Google, including your display name, email, and profile photo.
- Content you submit in chat, comments, weekly challenges, proof uploads, profile fields, and support requests.
Learning and account activity
- Study track, progress history, saved answers, badges, XP, leaderboard positions, challenge status, and related student stats.
- Notification preferences, bookmarks, and other settings tied to your account or browser.
Technical and device data
- Browser, device type, IP address, timestamps, logs, and security signals used to detect abuse and keep the service stable.
- Push notification tokens, service-worker data, and browser storage needed for the app to function.
2. How we use data
- Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and support password or Google sign-in.
- Deliver study materials, track progress, show badges and rankings, and personalize learning features.
- Review challenge submissions, moderate chat and comments, investigate abuse, and enforce community rules.
- Send verification codes, account notices, challenge notifications, and service updates.
- Maintain backups, fix problems, improve quality, and protect users and our systems.
3. When information may be shared
We may share data only in limited situations:
- Infrastructure partners: Google Firebase and related services used for authentication, hosting, databases, storage, and notifications.
- Communication tools: services used to deliver verification emails, operational messages, and support.
- Moderation: approved admins may review reports, challenge proofs, public chat, and account security issues.
- Legal and safety: when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, the public, or EduVenture.
- Business transitions: if EduVenture is reorganized, sold, or merged, data may transfer as part of that process.
4. Public areas and user content
Certain areas of EduVenture are public or visible to other users, including chat messages, comments, leaderboard entries, display names, avatars, and challenge participation. Avoid sharing sensitive personal information in these spaces.
Proof files submitted for challenge review may be visible to authorized admins handling the submission.
5. Cookies and browser storage
EduVenture uses browser storage to keep the app functional, including:
- Remembering draft data, saved answers, return URLs, and session state.
- Supporting the PWA experience, offline behavior, and faster loading.
- Storing push notification tokens if you allow notifications.
You can clear browser storage or turn off notifications in your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly as a result.
6. Retention
We keep data for as long as needed to operate EduVenture, maintain account history, enforce rules, and meet legal obligations. When no longer needed, we may delete, anonymize, or retain limited records for backup, security, or legal compliance.
7. Your choices
- Edit your profile and notification settings from within your account.
- Choose between password login and Google sign-in where available.
- Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your data, subject to verification and applicable law.
8. Security, children, and international processing
EduVenture is designed for students. Users must meet the age requirements in their location; where parental consent is required by law, it must be obtained before use.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is completely secure.
Because we rely on third-party infrastructure, your data may be processed in countries other than your own.
9. Policy changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page with a new effective date.
